With “Youthful, Avant-garde, Exquisite” as our key concepts. The literary genres we focus on encompass Fantasy, Sci-Fi, legend fiction, supernatural tales, and Magic Realism. Meantime, to take full advantage of our multidisciplinary and international background, the academy integrates different art forms into its innovative teaching practices. We aims to expand the inclusive cultural imagination with a distinct Eastern aesthetic through both creative and academic collaborations.
Contents
The literary genres we focus on encompass legend fiction, science fiction, supernatural tales, and magic and fantasy novels. The academy aims to build connections among the trends of magic realism and God-realism in contemporary Chinese fiction and establish an inclusive cultural system of imagination with a distinct Eastern aesthetic. What we promote are ways of thinking and different dimensions of modern poetics rather than narrowly defined literary categories.
Format
To take full advantage of our multidisciplinary and international background, the academy integrates different art forms (fiction, new media art, script game, film, music, stage play etc.) into its innovative teaching practices. We hope to create a path-breaking fantasy world with our "distributed narrative" International Speech Forum (with Tsinghua University & China Academy of Art), Posthuman Research Center, New Media Immersive Script Innovation Base, and Meta-profession Incubation Camp.
