Historical novel:  An Odyssey
Cosmos Books Ltd.
2022 Hong Kong International Book Fair

In December 2019, the historical novel An Odyssey was published by Beijing United Publishing Company; in October 2021, the traditional version was launched in Cosmos Books Ltd., selected for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council's annual funding scheme, and received much attention at the 2020 Shanghai Book Fair and 2022 Hong Kong International Book Fair.

The book is based on the life experience of Wang Wei (a Chinese poet, musician, painter, and politician of the middle Tang dynasty), especially during the An-Shi Rebellion. Through the contrast of two main characters, Yun Qi (the prototype Wang Wei) and Kuyuan (the prototype Tao Yuanming), the book tells the story of a generation of literary figures who defended themselves and persevered in the dangerous situation of the officialdom and the chaotic world. With a unique perspective and grand writing style, the story unravels the historical mystery of why Wang Wei had to destroy his reputation and accept a fake post from An Lushan after the An Shi Rebellion. In addition to its unique historical perspective, the work also presents a modern-day perspective on the intricate and multi-faceted friendship circle of the literati and the powerful in the Tang Dynasty.

Music Fantasy Fiction:  A Scroll of the Sky and the Sea
Hunan Literature Publishing House

In April 2021, the musical fantasy novel A Scroll of the Sky and Sea was highly recommended by Liu Cixin, Pan Haitian and Zhange Ni. The protagonist is a “bard”, a protector of music. Born a member of the romantic Mermaid (鲛人), visited the freeflying Harpies (羽人) in the celestial palace, and travelled through the human world filled with song. An Eastern Fantasy series forged in the aesthetics of classical mythology,  extending from the mythological universe of The Classic of Mountains and Seas. An attempt to combine agile imagination and weighty history, to explore an area of academic interest with fantasy writing such as identity, gender and art.

The work uses the cross-cultural travels of the 'bard/singer of strings' as a metaphor for emotional change and the awakening of self-consciousness, and presents the romantic imagination of 'the sky and the sea', addressing the spiritual emptiness and lack of emotion in the midst of the epidemic.

Music Fantasy Fiction:  A Scroll of the Sky and the Sea
Hunan Literature Publishing House

The famous Chinese sci-fi author Han Song: this book combines fantasy and sci-fi, describing the journey of a young bard from the sea who meets intelligent creatures from different worlds.

Professor Yan Feng from Fudan University says that in the age of trans-media, A Scroll of the Sky and Sea is the crossover and fusion of literature, painting and music in an effort to break the barrier between different forms of culture. How do literature, art and music come into play? How can we best leverage the power of this fusion? Is it facing a transformation that results in the re-presentation in the form of converged media encompassing a range of media? Moreover, it related to a higher level of progression that is the state of transcendence and Anattā—— the true essence ultimately revealed in the pursuit of art, love and adventure is that it is the process that truly constitutes the objective.

《SOCIETAL COSMOS:Scifiathon Award Stories》China Academy of Art Press

Science fiction is the imagination of future society. The lack of imagination is the reason why human society has bowed to the power of technology and submitted to a future determined by it. To revive the passion for science fiction in the humanities is to revive the ability to socialise technology: to multiply history and enrich culture.

This book contains 8 fantasy novels, including Lucia`s Emotion Alchemist.
